My full name is Bianca Lulu Periclesurya, born and raised in West Jakarta, Indonesia. My journey in the arts started as soon as I discovered color pencils, and from that moment, no one could stop me from filling any white space I found. I was raised in a family that was supportive of my hopes and dreams, particularly my desire to work in the creative industry.
I consider myself lucky to have such a loving family, unashamed of their daughter wanting to become an artist more than anything. That became my ultimate dream - to reach as far as I can, explore my full potential, and finally find my place in the world of creativity.
I appreciate those who believe in my artistic abilities, but I don’t buy into the idea of talent. Talent may give an upper hand, but it’s the hard work and curiosity that truly drive progress.
To be honest, I am excited to be as versatile as possible as a creative person, but staying focused on specific areas helps me establish a clearer specialty while still exploring creative methods along the way. That being said, I focus on brand identity and illustration.
In all the designs I have done, I based them all on my personal motto: Made by a human, for other humans. I've found myself fascinated by stylized/textured designs. While I prefer working digitally, I recognize that relying solely on digital mediums can sometimes make designs feel too static or mechanical to truly connect with the audience. Despite my lack of interest in working traditionally, I find that traditional methods can add warmth, authenticity, and an artisan feel to my work.
Through my past and future case studies, my ultimate goal is to create designs that feel natural and resonate deeply with people. As I previously mentioned, I am highly inclined to decorate things. This tendency isn’t just about making things look good or filling up empty spaces - it’s about adding thoughtful details that bring everything together and make the design truly shine and function beautifully.
I’ve been exposed to several cultural and societal values throughout my life, hat resonates most with me is the Indonesian concept of gotong-royong, a term for mutual assistance. It’s not just about physically helping others, it’s could also be about being supportive and lifting up the community around you. For me, graphic design is my way of keeping my creativity while contributing to my community.
Growing up, my family recognized that my biggest potential lies in the arts. I’ve stayed true to that belief, using it as motivation to learn new tools and explore different pathways that allow me to push my creative imagination to its fullest. I chose graphic design because of its versatility - it’s a field that lets you have a wide range of artistic skills, starting from illustration or UI/UX. While I’ve found my niche, there’s nothing stopping me from continuing to learn and grow.
Our world is moving at a rapid pace, especially with all the advancements in the tech industry. Graphic design gives me the opportunity to stay up-to-date with these changes, while also finding new ways to integrate creativity into our evolving society.
I like to crochet, do digital drawings, craftin...ugh, okay, I know most of my favorite pastimes revolve around the arts. I guess it’s just a habit I’ve had since I was little - to never letting my imagination sit still. I’m not a master of the arts, of course, and honestly, I never know if a project will turn out the way I expect. But what matters to me is that I always give it a try.
I also enjoy learning new techniques and experimenting with different styles. Whether it's trying out a new crochet pattern, experimenting with textures on poster, or create hypothetical package designs. These hobbies are the ones that kept me inspired and remind me why I love being creative, sometimes I introduced me to a whole different method that completely elevated my design game (e.g. would never know how making a website works if I don't get myself to work on this one).
Glad you ask! Here are some things about me :)
